How to get shiny Lechonk
Shiny Lechonk made its debut as part of the A Paldean Adventure event back in September 2023. This means that shiny Lechonk and its evolution shiny Oinkologne have already been in the game for long time.
If you’re still missing the pretty pink pig, you’re in luck! Every Community Day sees the shiny odds for its chosen Pokémon increased. You can increase your chances further by using an Incense to boost the number of Lechonk spawns you encounter. As such, you shouldn’t have much trouble tracking down a shiny Lechonk. Simply keep clicking on Lechonk until you see a shiny one! Just remember to keep an eye out for the sparkle effect and shiny icon next to its name to avoid missing out.
As you can see, the shiny Lechonk family is pretty amusing – they did their best to make it look like a real pig, swapping to a pink colour palette. This is conserved through evolution to shiny Oinkologne which is literally a pig in makeup… If you’re a fan of pink shinies, it’ll be a good day for you.
Remember, Oinkologne is sexually dimorphic, meaning that it has distinct male and female forms. If this matters to you and your collection, ensure you keep an eye out for both male and female shiny Lechonks to evolve!
How to get Lechonk with perfect IV CP
May’s Community Day is the perfect time to find a Lechonk with perfect IV stats. (Referred to as a ‘Hundo’ by the Pokémon Go community.) These are 15/15/15 stats you’re looking for to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and Master League.
If you’re at least Level 30 (or above), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Lechonk:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 628 CP
- Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) – 680 CP
The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we’ve kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you’re currently below Level 30.
There’s a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! From the Go Battle League, Remote Trading, PokéStop Showcase, Routes and Max Battles. Don’t forget to catch rare Pokémon while you’re at it.
Lechonk’s Community Day move
May’s Community Day brings a new and exclusive move for Lechonk’s final evolution, Oinkologne.
If you evolve a Lechonk into Oinkologne during the event or up to four hours afterwards (9pm local time) your resulting Oinkologne will learn Mud Slap – a Normal-type Fast Attack. Notably, this is Oinkologne’s first non-Normal Fast Attack.
Mud Slap (Ground-type Charged Attack)
- Trainer Battles – 11 Power
- Gym and Raids – 19 Power
We recommend waiting until the end of the Community Day before obtaining this exclusive move to ensure you can evolve the Pokémon with the best IVs.
Best Oinkologne moveset recommendation in Pokémon Go
For Oinkologne’s best moveset, we recommend Mud Slap as a Fast Move and Trailblaze as a Charged Move. While this doesn’t play into typings and benefit from STAB, Normal typing isn’t that useful… We generally prefer coverage where possible on Normal types that are mid at best.
If you fancy teaching Oinkologne a second Charged Move, we’d recommend Dig, but this is likely a waste of resources. Oinkologne isn’t bad at PVP, but it’s by no means standout.
Here’s Oinkologne’s full moveset in Pokémon Go:
Fast Moves
- Mud Slap (Legacy, Normal)
- Tackle (Normal)
- Take Down (Normal)
Charged Moves
- Dig (Ground)
- Bulldoze (Normal)
- Trailblaze (Grass)
