How to get shiny Frigibax

Shiny Frigibax made its debut as part of the Pokémon Go Fest celebration in Osaka in May 2025. This means that shiny Frigibax, and its evolutions shiny Arctibax and shiny Baxcalibur, have already been in the game for more than a year.

If you’re still missing the minty dragon, you’re in luck! Every Community Day sees the shiny odds for its chosen Pokémon increased. You can increase your chances further by using an Incense to boost the number of Frigibax spawns you encounter. As such, you shouldn’t have much trouble tracking down a shiny Frigibax. Simply keep clicking on Frigibax until you see a shiny one! Just remember to keep an eye out for the sparkle effect and shiny icon next to its name to avoid missing out.

As you can see, the shiny Frigibax family are shades of mint green. We wonder if this was a deliberate choice as they’re Ice-types, and what’s cooler than being cool? Other than André 3000 (if you got that reference, let me hand you a walking stick), mint, of course.

We’re generally not a big fan of green shinies as they tend to fall somewhere between toxic and vomit green, but this family is muted enough that they’re not awful. Still, it’s a shame to say we prefer the regular to the shinies across the board on this one.

How to get Frigibax with perfect IV CP

June’s Community Day is the perfect time to find a Frigibax with perfect IV stats. (Referred to as a ‘Hundo’ by the Pokémon Go community.) These are 15/15/15 stats you’re looking for to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and Master League.

If you’re at least Level 30 (or above), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Frigibax:

  • Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 1,069 CP
  • Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) – 1,158 CP

The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we’ve kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you’re currently below Level 30.

The Choose Your Path: Fossil Fun quest is currently running! The Forever Forward season is here, so it’s a good idea to know the June event schedule. Go Fest 2026: Global is just around the corner!

There’s a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! From the Go Battle League, Remote Trading, PokéStop Showcase, Routes and Max Battles. Don’t forget to catch rare Pokémon while you’re at it.

Frigibax’s Community Day move

June’s Community Day brings a new and exclusive move for Frigibax’s final evolution, Baxcalibur.

If you evolve an Arctibax into Baxcalibur during the event or up to four hours afterwards (9pm local time) your resulting Baxcalibur will learn Glaive Rush – an exclusive Dragon-type Charged Attack. Notably, this is Baxcalibur’s signature move, so definitely one you’ll want to consider!

Glaive Rush (Dragon-type Charged Attack)

  • Trainer Battles – 90 Power and decreases your Defense by one stage
  • Gym and Raids – 105 Power

We recommend waiting until the end of the Community Day before obtaining this exclusive move to ensure you can evolve the Pokémon with the best IVs.

Best Baxcalibur moveset recommendation in Pokémon Go

For Baxcalibur’s best moveset, we’d normally recommend Dragon Breath as a Fast Move and Avalanche as a Charged Move. This plays into typings and benefits from STAB, which is always great. Baxcalibur is reasonable in PVP, so if you’re itching for a second move, Dragon Claw is generally recommended over Outrage.

The interesting thing will be how much energy Glaive Rush costs. Avalanche nets you 90 damage for 45 Energy. Since Glaive Rush lowers your defence, it will need to be substantially cheaper to be a better option than Avalanche. If it costs 45 Energy or more, Avalanche will be better for PVP.

It’s also worth noting that Glaive Rush is almost 25% stronger than Avalanche in Raids – again, it’s a question of how cheap it is to fire off. If it’s 60 Energy or lower, Glaive Rush is the better move.

Here’s Baxcalibur’s full moveset in Pokémon Go:

Fast Moves

  • Dragon Breath (Dragon)
  • Ice Fang (Ice)

Charged Moves

  • Glaive Rush (Legacy, Dragon)
  • Avalanche (Ice)
  • Blizzard (Ice)
  • Dragon Claw (Dragon)
  • Icy Wind (Ice)
