Oscar-winning documentary Mr Nobody Against Putin, Emmy winners Adolescence and The Pitt, in-the-zeitgeist shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Pluribus and Heated Rivalry, and news and interactive specials touching on Gaza, ICE and the Los Angeles wildfires are among the 86th annual Peabody Awards winners who are receiving their honors at today’s Beverly Wilshire Hotel ceremony.
Walking the red carpet were stars like François Arnaud, Karen Pittman, Jimmy Kimmel, Rhea Seehorn, Nathan Fielder, Ike Barinholtz and Halle Bailey, as well as writer-creators like R. Scott Gemill and Elizabeth Meriwether. Host Mo Amer, Peabody Career Achievement Award winner Amy Poehler, Peabody Trailblazer Award winner Sterlin Harjo and Peabody Industry Icon Award winner James L. Brooks also attended the carpet.
The developers, filmmakers and producers behind such honorees like PBS Kids, Andor, Come See Me in the Good Light, Pee-wee as Himself and Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur also took to the step-and-repeat.
The Peabodys, organized by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism, honor excellence in storytelling that examines social issues.
Inside the venue, host Amer was briefly joined by Ben Affleck, who delivered remarks, as well as musician Aloe Blacc, who performed on stage.
