OnePlus Nord CE 6 power-packed launch promises huge boost
OnePlus Nord CE 6 is shaping up to be a big refresh for the company’s mid-range line in India, with a clear tilt towards power users and gamers.
OnePlus Nord CE 6: battery-first, gaming-focused
OnePlus has confirmed that the Nord CE 6 will launch in India on 7 May at 12:00 IST, alongside the more affordable Nord CE 6 Lite. The phones will be sold via Amazon and the company’s own channels, with teaser microsites already live.
At the centre of the Nord CE 6 is a huge 8,000mAh battery, paired with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, effectively letting the handset double up as a power bank. OnePlus is promising more than 2.5 days of typical use on a single charge, and up to 10 hours of continuous BGMI gameplay or around 30 hours of YouTube streaming in its internal tests.
Display, design and durability
The Nord CE 6 is confirmed to feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits and 3,840Hz PWM dimming aimed at reducing eye strain during long sessions. A Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, combined with a dedicated Touch Reflex chip, underpins support for 144fps gaming and a touch sampling rate of 3,200Hz.
On the outside, the phone adopts a minimalist rear design with a small camera island housing dual sensors and an LED flash, and will be offered in black, white and light blue colourways, marketed elsewhere as Fresh Blue, Lunar Pearl and Pitch Black. OnePlus is also highlighting robust protection, with quad IP ratings (IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K) for dust and water resistance and testing to MIL-STD-810H standards.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite: budget-friendly endurance
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, which debuts alongside the main model, is positioned as a more accessible entry into the Nord family. It switches to a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset but keeps a 144Hz display, signalling that gaming and smooth scrolling remain core priorities.
A 7,000mAh battery, with an advertised backup of up to two days on a charge, anchors the Lite variant, which comes in black and light green finishes, also referred to as Hyper Black and Vivid Mint. The phone features a vertical rear camera module reminiscent of older Nord designs, and is expected to target the budget 5G segment below about Rs 23,000 once launch offers are factored in.
Outlook: where Nord CE 6 series fits
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 series arrives as an extension of the Nord 6 line, aiming to bridge the gap between budget and flagship models with unusually large batteries and gaming-centric hardware. For buyers who value screen fluidity, long-lasting power and a cleaner design over premium cameras or flagship chipsets, both the Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite could prove compelling once prices and full specifications are revealed at launch.
