Ohio State Women’s Tennis Advances to NCAA Semifinals For Second Time Ever

Ohio State women’s tennis has matched its deepest NCAA Tournament run in program history.

For only the second time ever, Ohio State women’s tennis will play in the NCAA semifinals after defeating No. 13 Pepperdine, 4-0, in the NCAA quarterfinals on Friday.

The third-seeded Buckeyes will face No. 2 seed Auburn in the NCAA semifinals on Saturday (time TBD).

If Ohio State can upset Auburn on Saturday, the Buckeyes would play in the national championship match for the first time in program history. Ohio State lost to Stanford in the 2017 NCAA semifinals, its only previous Final Four berth.

Ohio State was the only school to send both of its tennis teams to Athens, Georgia, for the final three rounds of this year’s NCAA championships. The men’s tennis team was also seeded third, but suffered a 4-3 quarterfinal loss to No. 6 TCU on Thursday.
