Despite recently getting her appendix out — per several people who spoke to her — Parker Posey stayed until the lights went up at the end of the night.

In the harsh light of day, it makes perfect sense that the last people of note out on the floor at New York’s Culturati 50 event were cover star Parker Posey, making space to do high kicks in her flowy green dress, and the Dare, telling anyone who will listen that the first thing he did when he woke up that morning was listen to the new Audrey Hobert. (He and fellow Culturati/Hobert fan Gabby Windey should link.) On Wednesday, Vulture gathered a slew of its Culturati 50 cover stars — including the aforementioned Posey, along with Adam Scott, Rachel Zegler, and Claire Danes — to Manuela in Soho for a night of cold shrimp, colder Johnnie Walker cocktails, and all things 2025 culture. The room was giving “club random” (no Bill Maher) in the best possible way: Where else could you see Brianna LaPaglia (a.k.a. Brianna Chickenfry) brush past an elf-ears-adorned Julio Torres?
In a room full of people on screens big and small, the most famous person — per all the other famous people there — was none other than therapist, author, and podcast host Esther Perel. The Gilded Age’s Ben Ahlers (or “Clock Twink,” as he’s often called) crossed the room to get to her. Elsewhere, Severance stars Scott, Britt Lower, and Jen Tullock stuck together chatting with New York Magazine’s editor-in-chief and host of the night, David Haskell. A few feet away sat playwrights Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Bess Wohl, huddled in a booth with Zoe Winters. The night’s tastemakers were shuttled in and out of the party thanks to Buick. Just because the party wound down at 10 p.m. didn’t mean the night was necessarily over. Subject of recent Vulture ChatGPT scandal Adam Friedland (spotted frequently in conversation with fellow Culturati Stephanie Wambugu) was heading back to work on a forthcoming episode of his show. “I’m gonna be up until two doing research,” he groaned.

Would you know the Dare without his sunglasses? Be honest.

You know them … You love them … It’s Ben Ahlers (Clock Twink) and Denée Benton of The Gilded Age. The former was one of the most sought-after people at the party. “The clock guy is here” was overheard more than once.

Posey has yet to receive any apartment offers after her polite request in her Culturati survey, but that doesn’t mean she’s given up hope. “The offers are coming, I can feel it. I need a patron!” she announced. Interested Parker Posey patrons, please apply within.

A specialty cocktail menu thanks to Johnnie Walker. The drink on the right tasted like a boozy apple juice (endorsement).
