“It was so entirely unexpected,” Glaser says of DiCaprio’s gesture
Nikki Glaser has finally learned more about Leonardo DiCaprio after he sent her three baskets of pasta in response to the jokes she made about him at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards.
Glaser, 41, previously detailed receiving the gift from DiCaprio, 51, during an April 21 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. When the comedian appeared at Netflix Is a Joke’s Night of Too Many Stars event at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 6, she detailed her exact reaction when the baskets of pasta arrived during a red carpet chat with PEOPLE.
“I got sent a picture of it because I wasn’t there when it arrived, and I was like, ‘What is this?’ And they were like, ‘It’s from Leonardo DiCaprio,’ and I was like, ‘There’s no way.’ And then I zoomed in more, and I was kind of confused,” she recalled.
“I was like, ‘He sent pasta?’ and I didn’t remember that the joke I had told was that his favorite food was pasta, pasta, and more pasta, and that he sent me three baskets of it. So he did three servings of pasta. It was so funny,” the comedian added.
“It was so entirely unexpected and honestly,” Glaser continued, “I was just bowled over by how kind it was because he took a couple of jokes that night that I’m sure — no one loves to have jokes directed at them, so it’s probably really kind of like, ‘Oh God, this again.’ “

Glaser noted during that April Tonight Show appearance that she sent DiCaprio and other celebrities whom she poked fun at in her Golden Globes monologue back in January flowers and “a thank you note for being such a good sport,” as she says on the carpet.
“But for him to write me back and give me that gift, it was just — oh my God,” Glaser says. “There’s moments in this career where these people that you’ve always looked up to and you’ve always really loved from afar end up being the people that you wish they were.”
During the Globes, Glaser joked that one of the only pieces of information DiCaprio has ever shared about his private life involved a 1991 interview in which the actor said “[his] favorite food is pasta, pasta and more pasta.”
“I felt like in receiving that gift from him, I learned more about him than I have because he doesn’t do interviews,” she tells PEOPLE now. “I’m like, oh, he’s a legit, kind, cool dude. Funny, cool, and kind, and just exactly what you want [him] to be.”
On The Tonight Show in April, Glaser said that DiCaprio was “the only person who sent something back to me” after she sent flowers to those she poked fun at during the January awards ceremony. She tells PEOPLE that she never would have expected the actor to do so.

“I don’t dwell on it too much because it kind of trips me up, just having any kind of correspondence with Leonardo DiCaprio,” she adds. “It shouldn’t be happening. How did I get here?”
Glaser told PEOPLE in an interview before the Globes that she felt challenged to find “anything else about him that is right for mockery, but not mockery,” beyond the actor’s tendency to date younger women for her second consecutive Golden Globes hosting stint.

During that awards ceremony, DiCaprio laughed, mouthed “Yes!” and pointed at Glaser to give her a playful thumbs up when she joked about his apparent love for pasta.
“The type of girl he goes for, he wouldn’t send pasta to,” Glaser joked on The Tonight Show in April.
