New Maruti 7-Seater Coming Soon?
Maruti has been known for reliable and accessible cars that offer best-in-class fuel economy. However, the brand is now working on a new 7-seater, which will be a more premium offering. This upcoming 7-seater is expected to be based on the same platform as the e Vitara, codenamed YMC. It was recently spotted a few times, but not many details were revealed as it was heavily camouflaged. As we mentioned, this 7-seater will be an EV and will be underpinned by the same e-heartect platform as the e Vitara. So, what features and tech would this get?

Maruti YMC – What To Expect?
We believe that most of the features and tech, along with powertrain options, will be shared between the e Vitara and the YMC. So, the YMC is expected to get features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, level 2 ADAS, powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, rear ventilated seats (6-seater version) and much more. We believe that Maruti will offer the same battery pack options as the e Vitara: a 49kWh battery pack (440km range) and a 61kWh battery pack (543km range).
While the e Vitara gets AWD in international markets, the India-spec does not get AWD. However, it is possible that Maruti could offer AWD for the 7-seater version. We expect Maruti to price the 7-seater between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and it will likely be offered with a BaaS scheme to lower the price tag. The brand could launch the YMC by next year.
