New-Generation Maruti Brezza – Should You Wait?

Firstly, the new-generation of the Maruti Brezza won’t be just a regular cosmetic upgrade, but it is expected to feature several changes on the inside, outside as well the underpinnings. While the exterior details might not be heavily changed, we are expecting the model to feature a new headlamp and taillamp design, reworked front fascia, redesigned front and rear bumpers and more. Apart from that, we could also see some new colour option inclusions to the model.

Another major change that is expected is the inclusion of the underbody CNG kit. Currently manufacturers like Tata and Hyundai are offering the dual-cylinder CNG option, which helps to liberate more boot space. Maruti has already offered the underbody CNG option with the Victoris, and the same is expected to be carried on the new generation Maruti Brezza.

This will help to solve the limited boot space offering in the model, that was a raised by many owners. However, the new generation Brezza is expected to continue with the Global C platform, with the changes.

Now, several had already said that the interiors of the current model feel dated when compared to its rivals. Maruti will now address the same issue with the new gen model. This includes a complete makeover on the inside, this includes a new dashboard layout. Expected feature suite includes a bigger infotainment touchscreen, a digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, ADAS, 360-degree camera and more. Several more feature could be added, but the exact list will be confirmed as we near its launch.

Apart from the interior and underpinning changes, we also expect the model to offer additional powertrain options, such as a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine or a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Yes, we know this might eventually make the Brezza underpowered, but it still offers good value for the price, helping it benefit from the new GST 2.0 norms. Along with this, the current powertrain setup that includes a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with CNG.
