New ‘Crimson Desert’ Patch Adds A Petting Zoo, Lost Rare Item Return

Crimson Desert is back with a new patch, unsurprisingly, given that it’s been at least a few days since its last one. This time, it’s not the biggest of updates, and not fulfilling too many major things on its last roadmap, but there are some cool additions all the same.

Even More Pets – At this point, you will be able to create what is effectively a petting zoo at camp in Crimson Desert. You can now do challenges to be able to register up to 100 pets, and you can summon up to 50 of them at a time at camp, making a full-on menagerie if you so choose.

Pet Names – They will now retain their names when they grow rather than losing them.

Lost Rare Item Return – Losing unique items from Treasure Chests will now be resold at vendors for a higher cost, rather than losing them forever with no way of getting them back.

Pinball – A number of changes have been made to the recently added pinball minigame, making it easier and fixing a lot of elements that were tripping players up or getting the ball stuck outright. I still don’t quite know why they’re bothering to add these, but sure, why not?

Quick Menu – You can now assign buttons for opening Inventory, Map, Journal, Skills and Photo Mode on controller.

Damiane and Oongka – The dynamic duo continue their long-term goals of being able to be used more without issue. There was a problem where Spirit recovered did not increase after leveling up focus, which I definitely noticed before, so it’s good that’s fixed. The pair can also now use the Mining Drill and Chainsaw, where previously you had to switch to Kliff to use either for farming.

Bow Shots – Now Explosive Evasive Shot and Multishot have additional effects that trigger when using them with special arrows.

Canceled Attack Eagle/Phoenix – The ability to let your Iron Eagle and Phoenix attack players with the Sigil of Valor was added then removed from the patch, so clearly there’s some sort of issue with it. I’m sure it will be re-added soon.

Golems – Adjust their attack patterns, which were frequently pretty annoying. Though if you land an Axiom Grab, some of the easiest boss fights in the game. Outside of that, however, before you learn that’s the move, whew, those were tough.

New Shop Items – Flower Basket is now in the Hernand Provisioner Shop and Ranged Weapons Vol. 1 has been added to the Hernand Equipment Shop. Was there no one else to get that one?

There is more past that, but those are the highlights, and you can read the rest of the notes here. One of the smaller patches, but even a small patch in Crimson Desert does still add a good amount. I would expect a larger one next time, which, at this pace, will probably be the middle of next week.
