The Razr Fold’s details and pricing are officially out from behind the curtain, and Motorola has confirmed pre-orders will open very soon after teasing the foldable since January.
By this point, almost all about the Razr Fold was known because, well, it told us. After all, Motorola let press go hands-on with the device well before launch, and recently topped it off with an extensive spec reveal. That did enough to drum up excitement.
What we didn’t know for certain was the price and launch date in the US market.
Motorola has confirmed the Razr Fold will cost $1,899 at launch in the US. Pre-orders are set to open up on May 14 on Motorola’s website and at Best Buy. It will officially hit shelves on May 21, alongside the compatible Moto Pen Ultra (which is $99 on its own).
To recap, Motorola’s Razr Fold officially measures 9.89mm thick when closed, with an aspect ratio of 8.7:2 on the inside. The phone is sleek, and the “Blackened Blue” and “Lily White” colors are very much in line with Motorola’s design style, if a bit subdued compared to the finishes on the flip phones.
It’s not nearly as boxy or sharp as the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold or the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Its edges are rounded off, and it brings a refined look to a device that technically releases as a first for the company.

The outer display measures 6.6 inches with a pOLED panel. Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 is debuting on this device (and the Razr Ultra), and it’s the glass of choice for the outer display. The inner 2K LTPO display is a little wider at 8.1 inches, which falls in line with some of the more popular foldable designs released recently. Both panels are rated for HDR10+ content.
Motorola is relying on Android 16 to power the Razr Fold, alongside a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage. It’s all powered by a 6,000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging capability.
An $1,899 price tag wasn’t unexpected, but it sits $100 higher than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. That does leave it cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, though, which costs $1,999. Motorola is undoubtedly releasing the Razr Fold in a tense market, though it dominates the clamshell space. Samsung has new foldable devices in the works, and Apple is set to enter the space soon. It’ll be interesting to see if the Razr Fold can find its footing.
