Who is Monalisa Bhosle?

Monalisa Bhosle is a young woman hailing from the Banjara community of Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh, who caught national attention by selling Rudraksha malas at the 2025 Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela. Videos of her striking hazel eyes and confident sales pitch exploded online, earning her the “Kumbh Viral Girl” tag, however, Monalisa left Kumbh early due to crowd harassment, as seen in CNN-News18 footage of fans overwhelming her.

“What could be a bigger achievement than people coming to meet me even after I returned to Indore?” she posted on X on January 28. Her simple clips on village life and Rudraksha authenticity quickly gained her 404K Instagram followers.

She got a film debut and future opportunities

Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra cast her as the lead in ‘The Diary of Manipur’, with teasers released in Prayagraj. She’s also signed the Telugu film ‘Life’ and the Malayalam project ‘Nagamma’. “Today outside the poster, tomorrow inside. That’s the cycle of time,” Monalisa said in a video next to a Pushpa 2 poster, hinting at her Mumbai dreams. From the Banjara community roots, her natural charm led her from stalls to sets.

She married her boyfriend, Farman Khan

Monalisa’s boyfriend, Farman Khan from Maharashtra, an actor and model, entered her life via social media and a film set meeting. “Farman himself shared that he is an actor and first met Monalisa on a film set. Their friendship soon blossomed into love,” reports note, adding she proposed first, according to newsable.asianetnews. Despite family opposition over religious differences, her father, Jai Singh Bhosle, allegedly arranged another match but they wed at Kerala’s Nenar temple in Thiruvananthapuram.

Temple wedding amid controversy

The couple chose Kerala for its vibe and plan to stay there post-marriage. Viral videos show Monalisa in a red saree with sindoor, Farman in a white shirt and mundu. “My family wanted to get me married somewhere far away, but I didn’t like that,” she said in an Instagram reel, confirming the union under police protection due to family pushback.
