Michael Carrick has addressed the injury situation around Casemiro and Benjamin Sesko ahead of Manchester United’s encounter against Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
Both Casemiro and Benjamin Sesko were absent from Manchester United’s 0-0 Premier League draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last weekend.
Michael Carrick confirmed ahead of Man Utd’s clash with Sunderland that Red Devils ace Casemiro would be absent from the first-team matchday squad.
The 44-year-old United legend said that Casemiro was carrying a minor knock last Sunday, while Sesko was ruled out against Sunderland due to a shin problem.

Michael Carrick confirms that Benjamin Sesko will remain sidelined for the Nottingham Forest match
Benjamin Sesko was forced off after the first half in Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Liverpool in the Premier League showdown at Old Trafford in April.
Ibrahima Konate sent Benjamin Sesko flying with a push during the United vs Liverpool match and the Red Devils striker crashed into the board around the pitch.
Michael Carrick revealed after last month’s Premier League match that the incident aggravated a pre-existing concern that Sesko was carrying on his shin.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, the United interim head coach said that Sesko won’t be ready for the Nottingham Forest encounter.
“Ben’s not as straightforward as Case,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“He’s still not 100 per cent with the problem he has. Apart from that, we’re alright.”

Michael Carrick reveals Casemiro is ready to return for his final home Man Utd match at Old Trafford
Despite Sesko remaining sidelined for Sunday’s Premier League match, Carrick has confirmed that Casemiro will return for his final Man Utd clash at Old Trafford.
“Case’s available,” he said at the Carrington training complex.
“I can speak since I’ve been here and met him and worked with him, he’s been fantastic for us, for me personally, for us as a group, what he’s given us.
“That certainty helps, knowing the situation, for him and for us, for him to get in a place where he can give absolutely everything, [knowing] it’s going to come to an end.
“Credit to him for the way he’s gone about that. It is easy to go the other way. He’s fully invested, fully supported by us as a staff in the performances he’s given.
“He’s had some ups and downs over the year, to finish so strongly and see that connection with the supporters is really good to see.”
Casemiro is in the final two Premier League matches of his Man Utd playing spell ahead of the former Real Madrid star leaving Old Trafford in the summer.
