Michael Carrick believes Casemiro will be fine to face Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford

The good news is that United expect Casemiro to be fit to face Nottingham Forest next Sunday.

It will be a significant game for Casemiro because it will be his final match at Old Trafford.

That means Casemiro will bid farewell to the Old Trafford faithful after the match, but Carrick has provided an update on the 34-year-old, stressing he will be fit in time.

“Case will be fine, it’s not a major issue,” Carrick told reporters in his post-match press conference.

He added that the situation is more unclear with Benjamin Sesko: “Ben, we will have to see.”

This means Carrick won’t have the same headache in midfield when it comes to playing without a proper defensive midfielder. It highlights the need to invest heavily in that area this summer.

Casemiro will be keen to make sure he is ready for his final outing at Old Trafford, especially given how much he has enjoyed his time with the fans at the club.

Furthermore, those fans have been singing for Casemiro to stay another year for months.
