New JSW SUV?

While JSW will be selling a slew of cars soon, it will continue to be in partnership with MG Motors too, to bring in cars like the Wuling Starlight 560 and the Wuling Darion with their own badging. There is another unique SUV that MG will soon bring to India, and it is none other than the IM6. The MG IM6 is a premium coupe SUV, which in international markets competes with the likes of the Tesla Model Y, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and the Kia EV6. And now, rumours suggest that the IM6 will be launched in India by August 2026.
Being a premium offering from the brand, we believe that the IM6 will be sold in the MG Select showrooms alongside the Cyberster and the Majestor. Sources suggest that the bookings for the MG IM6 will commence in July. It is likely that the MG IM6 will carry a price tag of around Rs 60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), considering it is a premium offering and will be brought to India through the CBU route. So, what will the IM6 have to offer? Let’s take a look!

MG IM6 – What To Expect?

The MG IM6 has a sharp and striking design, and will surely turn necks on the streets. The premium design continues inside, with a clean design and good quality materials all around the cabin. The IM6 is offered with multiple interior colour options in international markets, but the India-spec could get the white interior. The IM6 gets a loaded to the brim with features like a panoramic sunroof, twin-screen setup on the dash, a centre-console mounted touchscreen, an ADAS suite, powered and ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats and the list goes on.
The international spec IM6 gets a 100kWh battery pack and the option of either a single motor RWD setup or a dual motor AWD setup. The RWD single motor setup has a power output of 401bhp and 500Nm of torque, along with a claimed range of 625km. On the contrary, the dual-motor setup has a massive power output of 741bhp and 802Nm of torque along with a claimed range of 505km. We expect MG to offer both the battery pack options in India, likely with a slight down tune in terms of performance. However, we hope MG leaves the performance as it is, making it the most powerful SUV in its segment. That said, the IM6 would be quite an exciting SUV from MG, and will surely put up a tough fight in its segment.
