Melissa McCarthy brought her comedic chops—and served up some bejeweled holiday party outfit inspiration—while making a glowing return to Saturday Night Live on December 6. The Bridesmaids alum showed off her curves in a black velvet jumpsuit as she returned for her sixth SNL hosting gig.
Clad in the show-stealing, figure-hugging catsuit, McCarthy kicked off SNL’s latest episode with a rendition of her musical talents via a “mouth horn.” While playfully bickering with Marcello Hernandez and getting knocked over by a storm of faux snow flurries, the comedian showed off her festive one-piece, which sparkled with rhinestone accents on her shoulders and chest. McCarthy’s black velvet jumpsuit featured a plunging neckline, a waist-cinching belt accented with a floral-inspired crystal broach, and flared legs. Her long sleeves were capped with iridescent beading on the shoulders, adding some extra holiday sparkle to her performance.

McCarthy, who shares teen daughters Vivian and Georgie with husband Ben Falcone, wore her long brown hair in voluminous middle-parted curls. Black liquid eyeliner, rust-colored eyeshadow, and a warm peach flush on her cheeks and lips finished off her SNL look.

Later on in the episode, the Gilmore Girls alum changed into a sparkly black suit that was completely encrusted in rhinestones. McCarthy embraced the office siren trend as she appeared with musical guest Dijon as well as SNL co-star Kenan Thompson, wearing nothing but a black bustier bra with a sheer black lace overlay over her chest under the structured blazer.

It seems that McCarthy is in her “the sparklier, the better” style era, recently wowing in head-to-toe sequins at the 2025 Museum Gala on December 4. Posing with her husband at New York City’s American Museum of Natural History, McCarthy posed in a molten gold sequined dress featuring long balloon sleeves and abstract red sequin accents on her lower midriff and fitted skirt. Pulling her brown hair back into a sleek bun for the star-studded event, McCarthy kept the shine going with iridescent eyeshadow, diamond-encrusted hoop earrings, and a small metallic gold bag.
