Adea Cobaj, Yarmouth senior: Cobaj returned to No. 1 singles last year and helped lead the Clippers to the Class B final. She went to the round of 16 as the 12th seed in the singles tournament and was 8-2 in team play for the season.

Rosie DellaMattera-Christin, Cape Elizabeth junior: DellaMattera-Christin transferred from Waynflete and will take over as the Capers’ No. 1 after playing the same role for the Flyers. She reached the second round of the singles tournament last spring.

Ruby Glenn, Lincoln Academy freshman: Glenn has already risen to the Eagles’ No. 1 singles spot and showed her talent with a preseason win over Brunswick’s Molly Tefft. The defending Class B champs lost their top two singles players, but Glenn should shine.

Jasmine Radjabova, Gorham junior: Radjabova turned heads during the singles tournament, upsetting the eighth and ninth seeds to become the only unseeded player to make the quarterfinals. She’s No. 3 on UTR’s Maine junior girls rankings.

Phoebe Reilly, Falmouth sophomore: Reilly was an asset as a freshman at the No. 3 singles spot on Falmouth’s title team and reached the quarterfinals of the singles tournament. She’s made strides in her understanding of how to combat opponents and will start as the Navigators’ No. 1.

Lilia Root, Thornton Academy senior: The Golden Trojans reached the Class A South final with Root in the first singles spot, and she’ll start this season playing second singles. She reached the round of 16 last year, and is a tactical, calm and poised player.

Maddie Smith, Cheverus junior: Smith, a competitive player with a good baseline game, rises from second singles to first singles for the Stags. She went 12-3 last season and reached the round of 32 in the state singles tournament.

Molly Tefft, Brunswick senior: Tefft will be eyeing a state singles championship after finishing runner-up last year, and a team championship after guiding Brunswick to the Class A North final. She went 15-1 in KVAC play, losing only two sets in the regular season.

Sophia Turker, Falmouth junior: A smart and patient player who knows when to go for points, Turker will likely play in Falmouth’s No. 2 singles spot. She earned the seventh seed at the singles tournament and made the round of 16.

Emily Winkler, Thornton Academy sophomore: Winkler is something of a mystery, playing her first year of Maine high school tennis, but she’s impressed enough to take Thornton’s No. 1 singles spot. She is well-trained and experienced in matches and has a powerful game.
