Marcus Rashford left Manchester United in the summer after being frozen out – but his future at Barcelona is now uncertain heading into a World Cup summer
Marcus Rashford’s Manchester United future is very much up in the air – and his hopes of joining Barcelona could soon be over.
Rashford had hoped he would be able to extend his stay at the Spotify Camp Nou, but it is now unclear whether that will be possible.
The La Liga giants have already splashed the cash this summer, with Anthony Gordon currently in Spain undergoing his medical after a £69million deal was agreed earlier this week.

It is being reported that the Spanish champions have agreed to pay Newcastle in excess of 80 million euros – around £69.3m – to sign a player they faced in the Champions League this season.
And on Thursday night it was reported that Bernardo Silva wants to join Barcelona on a free transfer following his exit from Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of next month.
The Times is reporting that Barca are ready to offer Silva a wage of about £80,000 a week, which would be a significant decrease on his earnings at City, but that will not put him off a move to the club.
However, more worryingly for Rashford and United is that Spanish publication Sport is reporting that the arrival of Silva this summer would rule out Barca making a move for the England international.
Rashford has impressed Barca manager Hansi Flick this season – and his free-kick helped seal the La Liga title in El Clasico earlier this month.
But the Catalan club have been trying to lower the forward’s price, even though United have made it clear they are not interested in negotiating a reduction on the £26million agreed fee.
While United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reluctant to have Rashford back on the books and the £26m clause in his deal expires on June 15.
Addressing his future last month, Rashford said: “I am not a magician, but if I was, I would stay. We will see. I came here to win. I want to win as many things as I can.”
He then added: “This is a wonderful team, they’re going to win so much in the future. To be a part of that would be special. I always had an admiration for Barcelona, they were my second team so it is a dream to come here and win.”
