Mahindra XUV 7XO spotted ahead of 5th Jan launch
Mahindra and Mahindra is preparing to start the new year with a bang. The brand plans to launch the XUV700 facelift on Jan 5th. The SUV will now be renamed to XUV 7XO, just like XUV300’s name was changed to XUV 3XO. The updated SUV was recently spotted on the Indian roads, revealing a few details about it.
What modifications can we expect in the design of the Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The exterior of the XUV 7XO will showcase a revamped headlight arrangement. It will feature dual barrels akin to those found on the Scorpio N. These will remain LED headlamps, although Mahindra might choose a projector setup this time. The Daytime Running Lamp will no longer extend downward; instead, it will take on a U-shape.
A new grille will be introduced at the front, reminiscent of the grille seen on the XUV500. The bumper will also be redesigned. On the sides, a fresh set of alloy wheels will be included, while the flush door handles and roof rails will be retained. At the rear, the tail lamp design will be new, similar to what we have observed on the recently launched XEV 9S.

What can we anticipate from the interior of the Mahindra XUV 7XO?
In comparison, the existing XUV700 features a dual-screen configuration. The XUV 7XO will include a screen for the passenger, along with an infotainment system and a digital display for the driver. The Boss mode will enable the rear passenger to enhance legroom by adjusting the front passenger seat from the second row itself.
Additionally, there will be BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) compatibility for those in the rear. The teasers reveal dedicated fixtures for this feature. Mahindra is also providing rear curtains to enhance privacy. Furthermore, a new two-spoke steering wheel, which is already doing duty in the brand’s Born Electric vehicles, will be introduced. Ultimately, the new interior theme is expected to impart a more premium aesthetic to the cabin.
Mahindra may also integrate Dolby Atmos, captain seats for the second row, as well as a ventilation feature, front parking sensors, and automatic parking, among other enhancements.

What engine options will be available for the Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The XUV 7XO will be equipped with the same engine options as the current XUV700. This includes a 2.2-litre diesel engine available in two distinct tuning configurations, as well as a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine offered in a single tuning configuration. However, we expect that the turbo petrol engine will also include driving modes, as it tends to consume fuel quite quickly. There will be no alterations to the transmission options. Thus, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be available, along with an all-wheel drive powertrain as well.
