After a skew of teasers, Mahindra teased the XEV 9S again, just a day ahead of its launch. The latest teaser showcases a clear silhouette, confirming the electric XUV700 speculations.
Externally, the Mahindra XEV 9S sports a full-width LED light bar and a front camera – a face borrowed from the existing XEV 9e. The XEV 9S, built on top of the INGLO skateboard, is essentially an electric XUV700. Its sole differentiating factor is a three-row configuration, unlike the five-seat layout found in the two existing Born Electrics. The XEV 9S will get a tri-cluster setup, Harman Kardon audio, blacked-out cabin, LED lights, powered tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof. There’s also a dual-tone alloy design with a Mahindra ‘Twin Peaks’ logo.
Mechanically, the Mahindra XEV 9S will be underpinned by the same 282bhp/380Nm RWD motor paired with a 59kWh/79kWh BYD Blade LFP battery. If there’s a change at all, the power/battery configurations could get minor tweaks. Expected to be positioned in the Rs. 21-30 lakh bracket, the XEV 9S is poised to rival the Tata Harrier EV and the BYD eMax 7.
