Madison Keys fought off Victoria Mboko to edge into the round of 16 at the French Open.

The American kept the young Canadian at bay to post a 6-3 5-7 7-5 victory and set up a fourth career clash with Diana Shnaider.

The Russian raced clear of Oleksandra Oliynykova with a 7-5 6-1 success and will now target a first ever win over Keys as she trails the head-to-head 3-0. 

If Maddy can play with sustained consistency she should have too much but it will be a big-hitting affair so streaky spells are likely.
