Actor Elizabeth Hurley and her partner, American country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, have opened up about their “blissful” life together, revealing a shared love for nature and quiet evenings.
The couple, who found love last year, told US magazine People they enjoy watching birds of prey and lighting bonfires.
Cyrus, father to pop sensation Miley Cyrus, expressed his contentment, stating he has “finally found this wonderful place where I’m happy”.
Hurley herself described their life together simply as “bliss”.
She told the magazine: “We split our time between Billy’s farm in Tennessee and my country house in England, with brief forays into Nashville and London.
“We both love the countryside, where I’m usually wielding power tools in the garden whilst Billy strums his guitar under a tree.
“We obsessively watch birds of prey and light lots of bonfires. It’s bliss.”
Cyrus said he “can’t give enough credit to what Elizabeth has brought to my life”.
He told the magazine: “There was something in the opposites of us, I think, that maybe not only got other people’s attention but even our own.
“And I’ve never seen anybody that, in some ways, has more in common with the insanity that I have lived through in this crazy show business.
“Then mix in other personal, good things and tragedies – she’s like me.
“I do feel at this moment a calm and a peace of mind of knowing that I’m on the right path – and certainly love feels good.”
Cyrus referred to going through a difficult time in the wake of his divorce from Miley’s mother, Tish Cyrus, in the early 2020s, and suffering with health issues.
“When you’re completely on the bottom, that is the only way to go – up,” he told the magazine, adding that he has “been to hell and back a couple of times”.
But he said that things have been looking up in recent years.
He has a new album, The Hill, out later this month, which features collaborations with his other children, while he appeared on Miley’s Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special earlier this year.
“All these years later, it’s going back to our roots as a family,” he said.
“And to be in this moment with them, it’s just a great celebration of our family.”
He said leaving his home in Tennessee to travel with Hurley was the “craziest thing” he has ever done, but added: “I had to do it. This feels like something real.
“What more could I ask for? I don’t have anything to complain about.
“I like how everything looks right now. I finally found this wonderful place where I’m happy.”
