A busy Saturday awaits Pokémon GO players in India as they prepare for the May 2026 Community Day on May 9, 2026, from 2 pm to 5 pm IST, with Lechonk being more frequently available in the wild. Some players may encounter shiny versions of Lechonk during this event or special version that has a different background.
While Community Day will likely consist of individual players participating on their own, this month’s Community Day will also include planned meetups across 45 cities in India, allowing Trainers to participate in Raids & Trades, Walks & Catches, etc. Major hubs where trainers can participate include Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kochi, and many others.
What players can unlock
The bonus for evolving Oinkologne is tied to Oinkologne, and its pretty straightforward – Evolve a Lechonk during the event or within 4 hours after it ends and you’ll get an Oinkologne that can use Mud Slap as a Fast Attack. Thats a pretty sweet deal for those trainers who want to get in on the action, especially as the event window is only open for a limited time
Mud Slap will still pack a punch even after the event is over though – it will still have 11 power in trainer battles and a respectable 19 power in the Gyms and raids. That should give collectors and battle-mongers all the more reason to get their Lechonk catches in order before the post-event window closes on them.
Special Research and rewards
You can pick up a Lechonk Community Day Special Research ticket for 59 Rs or the local price equivalent. This paid ticket will give you access to 3 Lechonk encounters with a nice background to set the scene, plus a few more Lechonk encounters to keep things interesting. Youll also get a Premium Battle Pass, a Rare Candy XL, and some other goodies to top it all off.
If you like you can also gift the ticket to your friends – but only if theyve reached Great Friends status or higher, and they havent already bought or received the ticket from someone else. And just in case you were wondering, the Special Research ticket wont give you a medal to show off or any kind of storyline to work through.
Bonuses During the Event
The point of the event bonuses is to help you make some real progress and collect those resources a bit more easily. Any eggs you put in an incubator during the event will hatch at about a quarter the distance you’d need to reach normally for an egg to hatch. And of course, when you’re out catching Pokémon, you’ll get double the candy you normally would. If you’re level 31 or above, you’ve also got a 100% shot at getting that sweet Candy XL from some of your catches.
Incense activated during the event, excluding Daily Adventure Incense, will last for three hours. Lure Modules will last for one hour and may attract Lechonk. Players can also take snapshots for a surprise. Some trade bonuses will run longer, from 14:00 to 21:00 local time. Trainers can make one additional Special Trade, for a maximum of two that day, and trades will require 50% less Stardust.
As always, keep an eye on what’s going on around you and stay on top of any local health guidance while you’re out playing.
