A red-carpet debut is always a sweet surprise, but when it happens at one’s own film premiere, it’s extra special.
Last night, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau headed to the Tribeca Film Festival to celebrate the “Roar” singer’s forthcoming concert movie, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour. For their first red-carpet appearance as a couple, the two went with complementing black-and-white looks, keeping things timeless and elegant as they posed for photos.
Perry pulled out a vintage Lanvin gown that took things back to the ’80s. The maxi dress, designed four decades ago for the house’s Spring 1987 collection, was draped from soft white gathers that floated delicately to the floor. It was embellished with a trio of cone accents at the neckline and another set at the waist, perhaps a subtle reference to the star’s signature cone bras. The result was a sculptural, modern goddess look, evoking the folds and movement captured in ancient statues with distinctly contemporary detailing.
Next to her, the former Canadian prime minister wore a classic black suit with a white dress shirt. The two walked hand in hand, smiling and laughing together.

The moment felt very full circle for the couple, who had their first (or at least their first documented) date in July of 2025. Two days after they were seen grabbing dinner in Montreal, Trudeau attended the Lifetimes Tour with his daughter. He was spotted singing along to his girlfriend-to-be’s hits “Teenage Dream” and “Firework.” Now, nearly a year later, he got to watch it all again with the star of the show herself by his side.
