June 2026 Pixel Drop: Bubbles, screen reactions, more

With the stable Android 17 launch, Google is also rolling out the June 2026 Feature Drop for Pixel devices.

From the Android 17 release, Google is emphasizing the new system ability to access apps as floating Bubbles. Like chat heads, applications can open over whatever you are viewing and then shrink down into icon bubbles that you can move around for quicker multitasking.

On Pixel Fold devices, a new Bubble Bar lets you access those floating apps in a dedicated strip at the bottom-right corner of the unfolded display.

Screen reactions are another capability from Android 17. This is part of the new floating screen recorder and lets you overlay a selfie video with green screen over full display recordings.
