John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette’ Ratings Grow By 80%

Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette has ushered in a revival of nineties fashion trends and a new obsession with a member of the Kennedy clan and his Calvin Klein publicist wife.

It’s also continuing to rate for FX.

The network said that the series, which is FX’s most-watched limited series ever on Disney+ and Hulu, grew its audience by over 80% with its wedding episode. The network didn’t reveal how many people watched the sixth episode of the nine-part series but that it had the run’s biggest bump of the season.

Viewers were clearly interested to see how the Connor Hines-created series would portray the wedding, which was largely a secret and took place in a small, wooden chapel on Cumberland Island off the coast of Georgia. That episode was written by Juli Weiner and directed by Gillian Robespierre.

The network said that the Ryan Murphy-exec produced series has been watched for 40M hours across its six episodes in the U.S. and around the world. This was up from 25M last week (these numbers include the sixth episode as well as the bump from previous episodes).

It comes as the seventh episode – “Obsession” – which deals with Bessette handling the publicity of being married into the Kennedy family and the rising tensions that came with that.

Love Story stars Sarah Pidgeon as Bessette and Paul Anthony Kelly as Kennedy with Grace Gummer playing his sister Caroline Kennedy and Naomi Watts starring as Jackie O.

It is produced by 20th Television with Hines and Murphy exec producing alongside Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Monica Levinson, Kim Rosenstock, D.V. DeVincentis and Tanase Popa.
