“Full House” was so iconic for so many years, with reruns airing decades after the show ended. So you’d expect the cast to be raking in the dough from their time on the sitcom, right?
Not according to Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner during the show’s run. When asked how much she was getting in residuals while appearing on the “McBride Rewind” podcast, Sweetin revealed, “I got a one-cent check the other day.”
Yup. One cent.
She then explained, “No, there’s no syndication anymore because it’s all in streaming. Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that.”
Of course, the actress clarified that when the show was first in syndication in her 20s, she was receiving larger residual checks. “[The money was] not reliable. You don’t know how much it’s going to be or how often they’re going to run the show. So like, sometimes you’re like, ‘Oh, cool. That was nice.’ And then sometimes you’re like, ‘All right, well, there’s uh, you know, there’s a nice dinner out,’” she said. “It’s not something you can rely on.”
“Full House” already got a reboot on Netflix called “Fuller House,” which Sweetin appeared in. But would she do another reboot of the 90s family sitcom? “I mean, we always joke that it’ll be, you know, ‘Fuller Fullest House’ and we’ll just be ancient and the kids will be wiping our asses,” she laughed. “I will never say never to anything. And you know, if I got to come back in another 20 years and work with these people again, who I’ve known for my entire life, yeah, I would totally do that.”
