JBL Tour headphones get a major update: focus on new sound curve and smarter operation

JBL is giving its premium headphones and earbuds in the Tour series an extensive update. The focus is on a new JBL sound curve for the JBL Tour ONE M3, a revised interface for the Smart Charging Case™ of the JBL Tour PRO 3 and a new Green Edition with elegant copper accents. The aim of the innovations is to provide an even more precise sound experience and more intuitive operation in everyday life.

  • New JBL sound curve with more natural bass and more precise mids and highs
  • OTA update for existing JBL Tour ONE M3 and JBL Tour PRO 3 devices
  • Revised Smart Charging Case™ with optimized user interface
  • New Green Edition with premium design in green and copper available from April 2026

New JBL sound curve significantly improves the listening experience

The new JBL sound curve puts the JBL Tour ONE M3 in the spotlight. JBL has further refined the existing tuning based on the well-known Harman curve, incorporating both internal “Golden Ears” and independent testing by Force Technology’s SenseLab. The aim was to achieve a more natural and precise sound that brings music closer to the original intention of the artists.

The new tuning ensures a more controlled bass without losing depth. At the same time, mids and highs have been fine-tuned so that vocals are clearer, instruments more authentic and details are more perceptible across the entire frequency band. This more precise tuning is particularly noticeable with high-resolution streaming services and modern audio technology.

The new JBL sound curve will initially debut in the Green Edition of the JBL Tour ONE M3, but will also be rolled out for existing models via an over-the-air update. This means that not only new buyers, but also current owners of the premium over-ear headphones will benefit from the improvements. JBL is thus positioning the Tour ONE M3 even more strongly in the high-end segment for discerning music lovers.

JBL Tour PRO 3 becomes even more suitable for everyday use thanks to a smarter interface

In addition to the sound, the user experience has also received a noticeable upgrade. The Smart Charging Case of the JBL Tour PRO 3 and the JBL Smart Tx will be equipped with a new user interface designed to make operation significantly easier. JBL relies on a combined horizontal and vertical menu system that makes important functions more quickly accessible.

Larger icons, revised typography and a new color scheme improve clarity. At the same time, layouts have been optimized to reduce unnecessary operating steps. This is particularly practical when quickly switching between audio sources or when using Auracast™ streams, for example to join or create shared audio broadcasts.

JBL has also added a new color variant to the Tour series. The deep green with elegant copper accents is based on classic British motorsport aesthetics and is intended to combine performance with stylish premium design. The Green Edition complements the existing line-up as the fourth color option and underlines the flagship claim of the series.

JBL Tour PRO 3 Blue Edition

The new models will be available from April 2026. The JBL Tour PRO 3 starts at 299.99 euros, the JBL Tour ONE M3 at 349.99 euros. The version of the JBL Tour ONE M3 with SMART Tx is priced at 399.99 euros. The firmware updates will be distributed to existing devices in parallel via OTA.

Conclusion

With the new JBL sound curve and the revised interface, JBL is strengthening its premium series specifically where users feel the greatest added value: in sound and daily operation. The refined audio tuning of the JBL Tour ONE M3 in particular should convince audiophile users. Together with the new Green Edition and fair OTA updates for existing devices, the JBL Tour series will remain a strong offering in the premium audio segment in 2026.
