James Van Der Beek’s former wife Heather McComb has remarried four months after the “Dawson’s Creek” actor’s death.
McComb tied the knot with actor Scott Michael Campbell in Missoula, Montana, on May 30, she shared on Instagram.
“Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by,” she wrote in a lengthy post alongside a carousel of photos from the couple’s nuptials.
The 49-year-old, who is also an actress, was married to Van Der Beek for nearly seven years from 2003 until their divorce in 2010.
Van Der Beek was married to his second wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, at the time of his death from colorectal cancer on Feb. 11. The couple wed in 2010 and had six children together.

On Instagram, McComb thanked her and her new husband’s family and friends “who traveled from all over the country” for the pair’s wedding.
“You all made it so special and a truly magical weekend that we will never forget. We are sitting here counting our many blessings. Thank you to everyone who made this so special for us!” she wrote.
Campbell shared a set of photos on his own account, writing, “BEYOND BLESSED for the most AMAZING week getting married to the BEAUTIFUL soul who is @heatmccomb.”
The couple started dating in 2023 after knowing each other for more than 15 years, McComb previously said on Instagram. They got engaged in April 2025.
McComb is best known for stints on shows including “Party of Five” and “Profiler” in the 1990s. In recent years, she has appeared on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Rookie.”
Campbell’s acting career also dates back several decades. His on-screen credits include appearances in “Brokeback Mountain,” “ER” and “Shameless.”

McComb shared a heartfelt tribute to Van Der Beek on Instagram after his death, writing that the pair’s friendship “endured through decades” despite their divorce.
“James was a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humor, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and a deep love of God that shined through him. He shined so bright yet was so humble and human,” she wrote alongside a photo of the two on McComb’s 21st birthday.
She also praised Kimberly Van Der Beek, calling her and James “true soulmates.”
“How she showed up for him with such grace is so beautiful and something I will forever admire,” she added.
McComb continued: “I love you James. I know you had a lot of loved ones up there welcoming you home. God bless you. Till we meet again you sweet soul you.”
