iPhone Fold tipped to feature a near-creaseless display: expected price, processor, and specs revealed – Firstpost

Apple’s foldable iPhone has recently become one of the most talked-about developments in the tech world and may soon enter the market. While Apple has remained tight-lipped about the device’s specifications and updates, a slew of leaks circulating online has offered a glimpse of what to expect.

Expected Specifications

Apple is reportedly working on a new book-style foldable design for the device. The phone is expected to feature a 4:3 aspect ratio, with a 5-inch OLED outer display and a 7.8-inch OLED panel when unfolded. The foldable is also said to have a very sleek design, measuring just 4.5 mm in thickness when opened. It may use a chassis made from a blend of titanium and aluminum to aid heat dissipation while maintaining structural integrity despite its slim form factor.

Thanks to the use of optically clear adhesive and a liquid metal hinge, leaks suggest that the Apple iPhone foldable could have a near-invisible crease.

Processor

The foldable is expected to be powered by the A20 chipset, which could be around 15% faster and up to 30% more efficient than the current A19 Pro processor found in the iPhone 17 Pro Max. While none of these specifications are confirmed, the device may come equipped with 12 GB of RAM to support a range of Apple Intelligence features running simultaneously.

The phone would likely ditch the physical SIM card tray and could be available as an eSIM-only device across all markets. The Qualcomm modem previously expected to be part of the device may be replaced with a new C2 modem, offering mmWave 5G support and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

Face ID might also be removed and replaced with Touch ID integrated into the power button.

The foldable is expected to feature a 48 MP main sensor and a 48 MP ultra-wide lens. It may also include a front-facing punch-hole camera on the outer display and a 24 MP under-display camera on the inner screen. The device is likely to run iOS 27 out of the box.

The iPhone Fold is expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup at Apple’s September launch event. The device could launch at a price north of $2,000.
