The upcoming iPhone series will exclude the base iPhone 18 from the flagship lineup at it’s launch event in 2026.

Apple is expected to launch the next iPhone series- iPhone 18 lineup in September this year. Earlier, the leak reports have suggested that the upcoming iPhone series will exclude the base iPhone 18 from the flagship lineup at it’s launch event in 2026. apple might skip 2026 for the launch of the iPhone 18. Instead, the company is reportedly planning to introduce it in early 2027.

Reports suggested that Apple is planning to make a major upgrade for the base iPhone 18 line up model, which might be the reason behind the last launch.

The iPhone 18 is tipped to arrive with a major upgarde in terms of RAM storage. According to analysts, the device will reportedly come with at least one new Pro-tier upgrade: 12GB of RAM.

As per analysts speculations, the iPhone 18 won’t launch this fall, as it normally would. Instead, Apple is planning to introduce it alongside iPhone 18e in early 2027.

Additionally, Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital says Apple plans to downgrade the iPhone 18 manufacturing process to cut costs. This might result in some minor spec regressions compared to iPhone 17.

Analyst Dan Nystedt, who has previously reported on Apple’s A20 chip and its new 2nm process, claimed that the iPhone 18 will have 12GB of RAM.

With Nystedt’s corroboration though, it now seems that 12GB is a safer bet. This will represent a 50% increase over the 8GB of RAM found in the base iPhone 17.

Apple brought a similar upgrade to its Pro models last year, moving from 8GB in iPhone 16 Pro to 12GB in iPhone 17 Pro.
