Suriya’s Karuppu has emerged as a much needed hit for both the actor and the industry. The team is currently enjoying the strong box office success of the film, directed by RJ Balaji.
On Sunday alone, more than 500K tickets were sold across the Tamil and Telugu versions. With this, the film secured the third spot for the highest first Sunday ticket sales among recent releases. Trade pundits say the movie has crossed the Rs. 100 crore gross mark, and fans are eagerly waiting for the makers to announce the official numbers.
The film is expected to hold well on Monday too, especially with no major releases arriving this week. Trade experts believe it is set for a steady and healthy run at the box office.
Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film also stars Trisha, RJ Balaji, Swasika, and Indrans. Sai Abhyankkar has composed the music.
