History repeating itself for Peddi? Similarity with Rangasthalam excites Ram Charan fans

Ram Charan’s Peddi is set to hit the big screens on June 4. With less than a month to go, fans are eagerly waiting for promotional assets. Meanwhile, they have spotted Peddi’s striking resemblance to the non-Baahubali industry hit Rangasthalam, which is leaving them excited.

Back when Rangasthalam released in 2018, the industry was going through a major slump. That Sankranthi season saw a huge disaster in the form of Agnyaathavaasi, and there were no big-ticket releases until Rangasthalam arrived. Utilizing that gap, the film satisfied the audience’s craving for a solid commercial entertainer with strong content.

Interestingly, Peddi is now in a similar situation. This Sankranthi saw multiple hits, with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu creating regional records. However, post-Sankranthi, the industry hasn’t delivered a proper hit, and Peddi is the first biggie to arrive after the Chiranjeevi starrer.

Even now, the situation is so bleak that theatres in Telugu states are voluntarily shutting down due to a lack of notable films. At such a time, the release of a star hero’s film is nothing but oxygen for the struggling industry. If Peddi delivers content on par with Rangasthalam, we could once again see Ram Charan toying with the box office.
