Hero HF Deluxe Flex Fuel: What is new?

Posted on

Hero MotoCorp has expanded its commuter motorcycle range with the launch of the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel variant in India. The new model has been introduced at a price of Rs. 72,792 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

E85 flex-fuel compatibility

The biggest update on the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel is its ability to run on E85 fuel, which is a blend of up to 85 per cent ethanol and 15 per cent petrol. The motorcycle has been mechanically and electronically updated, making it suitable for higher ethanol blends compared to conventional petrol-only models.

Engine and fuel system updates

The bike continues to use a 97.2cc single-cylinder engine but has been reworked with revised components to handle the ethanol-rich fuel. This includes updated fuel system hardware and ECU calibration changes to ensure consistent performance across varying fuel blends from E20 up to E85.

Design and colour updates

Visually, the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel gets a distinct black colour scheme that helps differentiate it from the standard variants in the lineup. Apart from this cosmetic change, the overall commuter-focused design remains unchanged.

Pricing and positioning

The flex-fuel variant commands a premium of around Rs. 13,315 over the base HF Deluxe, reflecting the additional engineering required for ethanol compatibility. Despite the higher price, it continues to target the budget commuter segment with an emphasis on lower running costs through ethanol usage.
