On Discord, Arrowhead is sharing more details about the incoming Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond. First of all, community manager Miitchimus corrects a mistake about the Armor Passive. The PlayStation Blog says the “Rock Solid passive makes your Helldiver more steadfast against staggering and ragdolling attacks”. In actuality, it offers “Ragdoll resistance and bonus 100% melee damage (no stagger resist)”.
Miitchimus also reports that the new AX/FLAM-75 ‘Guard Dog’ Hot Dog drone has the same statistics as the FLAM-66 Torcher. As for the highly anticipated Chainsword, it starts with medium armor penetration, and it “goes up to heavy over time as you grind against the enemy”. The community manager also shares that it’s medium armor penetration for the Maxigun minigun, and it is light armor penetration for the AR/GL-21 One-Two.
Lastly, you should know that you will not be able to move when firing the minigun. Arrowhead developer Alexus describes the Maxigun as “quite ammo hungry,” although “You can pick up ammo and keep shooting”. Alexus also says, “If your teammate plays mama goose with a supply pack, you practically turn into a gatling sentry”.
The Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond releases on December 2. Miitchimus says there will be “more optimisation/[performance] stuff,” so you should expect an update on the same day.
Arrowhead’s Python Commandos Warbond looks great. We haven’t received a new Warbond since Dust Devil’s back in September, so it’s been an unusually long wait. As for the future, leaks have revealed weapons for a stealth Warbond plus a lava planet straight out of Star Wars.
