Google brings new features with June Pixel Drop

Google has released the June’s Pixel drop adding screen reactions, Gemini Omni and customised music generation in Gemini.

With new Screen reactions, selfie videos are now built into screen recordings. Swipe down twice on the Quick Settings menu and select the recording icon. Then toggle “Show selfie camera” and tap start. Users will get full, real-time control over screen while front-facing camera captures reactions, with the capability to tap, drag and resize.

Pixel users can now create and edit videos with Gemini Omni by text, images and video prompts to create video. There is a pre-made template as well. Users can even make a custom AI avatar that looks and sounds like them.

Users can now generate music with Gemini on their Pixel to create original tracks. Any idea, photo, can be transformed into an audio track with lyrics. It’s customisable, so users can prompt Gemini with the style, vocals, and tempo they want. To start creating, open the Gemini app, tap the tools menu and select “Create music.”

Pixel users can now long-press any app icon on their phone to convert it into a bubble that floats on top of other apps. On Pixel 10 Pro Fold, bubbles are docked in a dedicated bubble bar at the bottom of screen. They can switch between apps with one tap for quick multitasking.

Google is also adding Voice Translate to Pixel 10a. It currently supports translations between English and Hindi (in preview). Quick Share now works with AirDrop on Pixel 8a and 9a.

Google is also introducing Custom Greetings. Users can record a personalised outgoing audio message. Manual Call Screen is now available on Pixel phones in India.

Google is integrating Emergency Sharing directly into their core Emergency Detection features, including Car Crash Detection, Fall Detection and Loss of Pulse Detection. If Pixel detects a severe car crash, a hard fall or loss of pulse, it will call emergency services and simultaneously notify your chosen emergency contacts. It is customisable as well.
