Adding another feather to its cap, the ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal, has secured an impressive ranking in the “Career Outcome” category of the Global University Rankings (London), an independent organisation that surveys universities based on various parameters. NDRI is ranked 16th in India and 650th in the world. The worldwide university rankings were released on Monday.
Dheer Singh, Director, said the institute performed remarkably well in the ‘Career Outcome’ rankings. “This recognition highlights our commitment to graduate success, world-class training and bridging the gap between academic research and global industry demands. I congratulate our incredible faculty, students and alumni, who continue to make us proud on the world stage,” said Dheer.
The ranking differs from traditional league tables that focus primarily on research papers. Instead, it measures career outcomes such as real-world results, graduate employability and the professional impact of alumni. The ranking recognises institutions that successfully translate academic training into tangible career success and strong industry links, Dheer explained.
He further claimed that this recognition confirms NDRI’s focus on student success and preparing graduates for the industry. “Our work in dairy science and bovine nutrition and international placements achieved by our students show that our graduates contribute meaningfully worldwide. This achievement honours the hard work of our faculty and students and the support of our stakeholders,” the director added.
Dheer further said, “As we celebrate this recognition, we remain committed to innovation in agricultural extension, sustainable farming and dairy research that supports both the industry and farming communities.” He thanked the entire NDRI family for their contributions and called for continued teamwork to further improve graduate outcomes.
