Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios have officially announced Forza Horizon 6. It is all set to be the next-generation open-world racing experience from the iconic Forza Horizon series, and it is getting a scenic change with Japan being the location. The upcoming title was essentially revealed during the Xbox Developer Direct, and it promises to deliver the largest map in Forza Horizon history. It won’t just be a racing game, but will also feature breathtaking landscapes, authentic Japanese car culture, and innovative gameplay features.Here are all the details that you need to know about Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6 release date and platforms

Forza Horizon 6 is releasing on Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam on May 19, 2026. It is worth noting that the Early Access for Premium Edition players starts four days earlier on May 15. Speaking of the PS5, the developers have specified that the game will be coming to the platform later this year. As a result, Forza Horizon 6 will be available across all major platforms.

Forza Horizon 6 pre-order editions and pricing

Forza Horizon 6 will have three available editions at launch:

  • Standard Edition ($69.99): The Standard Edition includes the base game with no added benefits.
  • Deluxe Edition (99.99): The Deluxe Edition offers enhanced content alongside the base game. The bonus content includes the Car Pass and Welcome Pack.
  • Premium Edition ($119.99): The Premium Edition provides the most comprehensive package. It basically includes the VIP Subscription, Car Pass, Welcome Pack, Time Attack Car Pack, and two post-launch content packs. You also receive a 4-day early access, allowing you to start the journey on May 15, 2026.

All pre-order editions of Forza Horizon 6 provide you with an exclusive pre-tuned Ferrari J50.

Forza Horizon 6 location and map details

As already specified, Forza Horizon 6 is going to be set in Japan, which is full of beautiful landscapes and stunning contrasts of rural and urban. Given that it is going to be the largest map in a Forza Horizon game yet, you will have a blast exploring the massive map. The game additionally features the biggest urban area, with Tokyo City being five times larger than Forza Horizon 5’s Guanajuato. You will love experiencing roads inspired by the C1 loop, Gingko Avenue, and mountain passes like Mt. Haruna and Bandai Azuma.

Forza Horizon 6 vehicle collection and gameplay

At launch, there will be over 550 vehicles to collect and personalize in Forza Horizon 6. The cover cars are particularly noteworthy: the 2025 GR GT Prototype will make its video game debut alongside the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser.Speaking of the new gameplay features, the game is going to include Customizable Garages and Estates where you can decorate and build in the open world. Furthermore, cars will now feature cosmetic tire wear and updated steering animations. New Forza Edition cars have also been fitted with extreme modifications, and Aftermarket Cars can be found parked on driveways around the world.
