Forsyth Park tennis courts will be closed for summer renovations

Forsyth Park tennis courts will be closed from late June to mid-September for renovations.

SAVANNAH, Ga. —

Tennis courts in Forsyth Park are set to get a makeover this summer.

The City of Savannah released a statement saying crews will be renovating the tennis courts from late June through early September. The purpose is to ensure they meet modern safety and performance standards.

The city said it expects the work to be finished by September 14.

Courts will be closed as crews work on replacing the worn-down courts and fences and also upgrading the pavement and sport-specific surfaces to improve the overall user experience.

City officials scheduled construction for the summer due to decreased use of courts during this time.

This renovation is being taken on by the Edwards Construction Group, and it is being funded by the FY2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

The City of Savannah also stated they are appreciative of residents’ patience as they work to restore the courts for community improvement.
