First Snapseed 4.0 update adds Camera shortcut on Android

Following last week’s launch, Snapseed 4.0.1 for Android is rolling out with a shortcut to quickly launch the new Camera experience.

Long-pressing Snapseed on your homescreen reveals a new app shortcut called “Camera.” It uses the same googly eye icon as the FAB (floating action button) in the app.

Place it on your homescreen to skip the gallery and immediately open the Snapseed Camera. On iOS, the app offers shortcuts on the lockscreen or Control Center, a homescreen widget, and Camera Control integration.

Hopefully, this release also addresses issues that some Samsung devices had with the Snapseed Camera. The Google Photos-adjacent team has been actively responding to feedback on the Snapseed subreddit.
