Square Enix is bringing Final Fantasy 14 to Nintendo Switch 2, Square Enix just announced. The game will be available this August.
A short early access period of about a month is planned. The cost during this time will be entirely free.
The Switch 2 version will require a separate subscription from other versions, following discussions with Nintendo. However, a Nintendo Switch Online membership will not be required. Additionally, active subscription-playing Final Fantasy 14 users on other platforms will get 50 percent off the Nintendo Switch 2 version’s subscription.
News about Final Fantasy 14 on Nintendo Switch 2 was shared during the game’s Fan Festival today. During the event, a crossover with Evangelion was announced. Another big reveal is the MMORPG’s next chapter, Evercold, which is planned for January 2027. You can get a look at that below.
