After Liam Rosenior’s exit at Chelsea, speculation has grown over potential replacements, including a potential return for former manager Enzo Maresca.

The search for a permanent successor to Liam Rosenior is in full swing after his brief, three-month tenure ended following a 3–0 defeat at Brighton.

While the Chelsea board has appointed Calum McFarlane to handle first-team duties for the remainder of the season, including Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Leeds, the long-term strategy remains the priority.

This all comes down to the departure of Enzo Maresca, whose January exit signaled the beginning of this current spiral. Maresca, who won the Conference League and Club World Cup during his time at the Bridge, is still without a job after leaving over four months ago.

Zero chance of Enzo Maresca returning to Chelsea

Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Chelsea’s search for a new manager, stating that Enzo Maresca won’t return to Stamford Bridge.

There are no chances of any sort of reunion.

Maresca is waiting in the wings for the Manchester City job if Pep Guardiola decides to leave at the end of the season, but it remains to be seen as to whether that will happen.

A return to Chelsea would always be off the table for as long as BlueCo are in charge.

Potential replacements available for Chelsea this summer

Following Liam Rosenior’s departure, Chelsea face a crucial summer with several managers available.

Xabi Alonso has emerged as a candidate for the Premier League after leaving Real Madrid in January.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim is also back on the market following a tumultuous stint at Manchester United.

Julian Nagelsmann is another name that has been directly linked with Chelsea, with the German boss looking for a new challenge after the World Cup.
