Recent online reports claimed that Akshay Kumar had been locked for Salaam-e-Ishq sequel, to be directed by Nikkhil Advani. The speculation quickly gained traction among fans. However, Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that the reports are inaccurate and that the actor is currently not associated with the project in any capacity.
Nikkhil Advani has not locked Akshay Kumar
While the sequel to Salaam-e-Ishq is reportedly in development, sources have clarified that Akshay Kumar has not signed the film. “The sequel might be happening or may not, but Akshay Kumar has not been involved in it. The reports suggesting he has come on board are completely baseless,” the source confirms.

The actor is presently enjoying the success of his latest release, Bhooth Bangla. With multiple projects already lined up, Akshay Kumar continues to remain one of the busiest stars in the Hindi film industry. While the untitled film with Anees Bazmee is already in production, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Ahmed Khan-directed Welcome To The Jungle, which is slated to hit the big screens on June 26, 2026. He also has Haiwaan, co-starring Saif Ali Khan, in the pipeline. It is expected to be released towards the end of 2026.
