The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 is here, and the new Lenovo Legion Go Fold is one of the most unconventional gaming products on display. Rather than being strictly either a handheld console or a gaming laptop, this concept system is designed to merge two categories into one single device.
The model remains a proof of concept for now, but it strongly indicates where portable PC gaming could be headed in the near future.
Everything we know about Lenovo Legion Go Fold
Hybrid design

The biggest highlight of the Lenovo Legion Go Fold is the foldable 11.6-inch OLED display. When folded, the device works like a compact handheld with a 7.7-inch screen. Open it up fully, and you get a much larger display that feels closer to a small laptop or tablet.
The screen can also be positioned vertically or adjusted to different viewing angles. This means you won’t be locked into one style of gameplay. You can either hold it like a handheld, place it on a table, or use the full screen for a more comfortable setup.

Controllers that adapt to how you play
The Legion Go Fold comes with detachable controllers mounted on sliding rails. Removing them is simple, and once detached, they can be connected and used wirelessly, similar to playing on a console.
Lenovo has also retained the FPS Mode from its previous handhelds. The right controller can act like a vertical mouse, which is useful for shooting games where precise aim is important.
There’s also a small display built into the right controller. It can show things like system stats, time, or performance data, and it can even be customized for shortcuts or quick controls.

Laptop-style productivity setup
Lenovo is clearly aiming for more than gaming here. The Legion Go Fold includes a folio kickstand and supports a wireless keyboard. Once set up, the device can be used almost like a mini-laptop for browsing, typing, or basic work.
So instead of carrying both a gaming handheld and a laptop, the idea is that one device can handle both use cases.
Hardware powering the concept
Since this is still a concept unit, final specifications may change over time. Right now, the Legion Go Fold prototype includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, 32GB RAM, and a 48Wh battery.
These specifications suggest Lenovo is opting for a PC-level performance rather than just mobile gaming. Even with the folding mechanism, early impressions suggest the device feels lighter than expected when held.
