With a flawless 11-0 record, Winchester earns the No. 1 spot in the initial Globe Top 20 girls’ tennis rankings. They’ve earned two wins over the No. 5 Lexington, and 5-0 victories over No. 11 Arlington and No. 12 Belmont.
Andover’s red-hot 10-0 start has it sitting at No. 7. The Golden Warriors have swept eight of their 10 matches. No. 9 Martha’s Vineyard is another undefeated entry after taking down the defending Division 3 champion, No. 16 Dover-Sherborn, and previously undefeated Monomoy.
A couple less familiar teams have cracked the top 20 — Hingham lands at No. 14 after losing just six matches all season, and Lynnfield gets in at No. 18 with four straight wins against Cape Ann League opponents. Records based on scores reported to the Globe.
