Singer Madhubanti Bagchi has revealed she was initially reluctant to appear in the music video of Shararat from Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The confession has drawn attention because the song has already become a major chartbuster after the film’s release.
The peppy track, directed by Aditya Dhar, features actors Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza, while the singers of the song — Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas — also appear in the video. However, Madhubanti has now admitted that stepping in front of the camera was not something she was immediately comfortable with.

Madhubanti Bagchi opens up about her hesitation
Madhubanti spoke about the experience during a roundtable conversation with Rohini on the YouTube channel Fever HM, powered by Amazon Music.
During the interaction, she explained that being on screen felt outside her comfort zone, especially because she prefers focusing only on her music.
“I was hesitant. I am just extremely hesitant about everything other than going to the studio or staying at home. Every other thing I will hesitant and ask, ‘Why?’ I asked Aditya Dhar, ‘Why? You have so many people in that sequence; the actors, dancers, and everyone.’ He was so convinced about what he wants to do so there is not much that you can protest about. He said I want this and I said okay!”
The singer also shared that she had one clear request before agreeing to the appearance. “My only condition was that, ‘Do not make me dance!’ Because I don’t want people to see that! (laughs)”

The Shararat sequence unfolds during a wedding celebration in Dhurandhar, which stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. In the dance number, Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza play professional wedding dancers performing at an upscale Karachi wedding. Meanwhile, Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas appear as singers performing the track live at the event, adding to the celebratory mood of the scene.
The song quickly gained popularity after the film’s release and has been widely shared across social media platforms.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s advance booking numbers surprise industry
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is among the most anticipated films of 2026 and is set to release in theatres on March 19. The makers opened advance booking for preview shows following the trailer launch on March 7, and the response has been strong.
Within just a day, the film sold 87,000 tickets on BookMyShow alone. By March 9, the figure had climbed to around 2 lakh tickets.
According to Sacnilk reports, the preview show bookings have already generated a gross collection of Rs 12.29 crore, even though the advance booking window has opened only for select shows.
