After rewriting box office history with its thunderous theatrical run, Dhurandhar 2 is finally heading towards its digital premiere. The makers have now confirmed the film’s OTT release date, ending weeks of speculation among fans eager to relive the high-octane action drama from the comfort of their homes. However, there’s a major catch—despite the announcement, Indian viewers may still find themselves unable to stream the blockbuster immediately due to platform restrictions and regional availability issues. Scroll down to learn more.
Dhurandhar 2 OTT release date confirmed—here’s why you may not be able to watch it
According to The Economic Times, Moneycontrol and other reports, Dhurandhar 2 will begin streaming internationally on Netflix from May 14, 2026. The film is also expected to arrive with the tagline “raw & undekha” and an extended runtime of 3 hours and 52 minutes, featuring additional footage along with uncensored content not seen in theatres.
Why Indians won’t be able to stream the movie on Netflix?
India viewers may have to wait longer for an official digital release as the opening credits of the theatrical version of Dhurandhar 2 revealed JioHotstar as the film’s official streaming partner. This indicates an exclusive licensing agreement, meaning the digital rights to the film are solely with one platform. As a result, while international audiences may gain early access on Netflix, Indian subscribers might not find the film available in their libraries.
Regarding the release timeline in India, industry norms usually indicate that most theatrical films arrive on OTT platforms within a six-to-eight-week window. Based on this pattern, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to stream on JioHotstar sometime after May 14, 2026. However, neither the filmmakers nor the streaming platform has officially confirmed the exact release date for India yet.
What is the plot of Dhurandhar: The Revenge?
Picking up from the events of the first installment, Dhurandhar 2 continues the journey of Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh), who operates under the alias Hamza Ali Mazari in Pakistan. After eliminating Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna), Hamza finds himself navigating the perilous underbelly of Karachi as he rises to power in Lyari. His mission intensifies as he works to dismantle terror networks from within while facing formidable adversaries, including the mysterious Bade Sahab and ISI operative Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal), who poses a direct threat to India’s national security.
The film also explores Jaskirat’s origin story. Once a death row inmate, he is recruited and transformed into an undercover agent by Ajay Sanyal (R Madhavan), the head of the Intelligence Bureau, and sent deep undercover to infiltrate Karachi’s criminal underworld as part of a covert operation codenamed Mission Dhurandhar.
