Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, netted Rs. 12.50-13 crore approx on its opening day at the Indian box office. On its face value, this is a good start, but it is aided by external factors.
Having said that, the movie recorded a better start than recently released rom-coms like Pati Patni Aur Woh Do and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The opening day collection is even on par with Shahid Kapoor’s previous release, O’Romeo, but it couldn’t overtake Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna’s respective last releases: Tere Ishk Mein and Thamma.
The Homi Adajania directorial met with mixed-bag reactions among the audience, which might be concerning for its business in the coming days. All eyes are now on its growth over the weekend and then the Monday test.
The original film, Cocktail, had an opening of Rs. 10.50 crore nett in 2012, which would be much higher if adjusted to inflation. It was a clean hit venture, with its full run ending at Rs. 74.50 crore nett. It will be interesting to see how the sequel performs at the box office and whether it can match the performance of the OG film.
Box Office Collection of Cocktail 2 is as follows:
| Day | Box office |
| 1 | Rs. 12.50-13 crore |
| Total | Rs. 12.50-13 crore |
