Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, is about to hit the big screens in a couple of hours. The movie wrapped its advance booking on a good note, selling over 70,000 tickets in the top two national chains, PVR INOX and Cinepolis, for the opening day.

The romantic comedy drama, directed by Homi Adajania, recorded the third best advance booking in the national chains this year, only behind Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2. Interestingly, the top three spots now belong to sequels. That said, it recorded better advances than recently released rom-coms, including Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, and others.

Based on its pre-bookings, the movie is expected to take an opening in the vicinity of Rs. 9 crore to Rs. 11 crore nett at the Indian box office. The fate of Cocktail 2 is crucial for Shahid Kapoor, as his last two outings, O’ Romeo and Deva, didn’t strike the right chords with the audience. While Shahid and Kriti have shared the screen space before in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljhaa Jiya, its first time for Rashmika.
