Xiaomi has officially introduced its new flagship smartphone lineup, the Xiaomi 17 Series, in the Indian market. After launching earlier in China and other global regions, the company has now brought the devices to India with high-end specifications and premium features.

The series includes two models – the Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Both smartphones focus on delivering top-tier performance, advanced camera capabilities, and powerful battery technology. With the launch, Xiaomi aims to strengthen its position in the premium smartphone segment in India.

Interestingly, the company has not introduced the Leica by Leitzphone variant in India. Instead, Xiaomi has focused on launching the standard Xiaomi 17 and the more powerful Xiaomi 17 Ultra for Indian consumers.

Xiaomi 17 Series Availability in India & Sale Date

The Xiaomi 17 Series will officially go on sale in India starting March 18. Customers will be able to purchase the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra through multiple platforms, including Xiaomi’s official website mi.com, Amazon India, and Xiaomi retail stores across the country.

With powerful hardware, advanced cameras, and a premium design, the Xiaomi 17 Series aims to compete with other flagship smartphones currently available in the Indian market.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Price in India & Launch Offers

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has been launched in India with a single configuration featuring 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The smartphone carries a price tag of ₹1,39,999. During the early bird offer period, buyers will receive the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit Pro, worth ₹19,999, free with the device.

In addition, Xiaomi is providing an extra ₹10,000 discount for customers who make the purchase using SBI bank credit or debit cards. The company is also bundling several digital subscription benefits, including four months of Spotify Premium Standard, three months of YouTube Premium, and three months of Google AI Pro. Jio users will also receive additional telecom benefits valued at ₹16,000.

Xiaomi 17 Series Early Bird Offers

Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 in two storage variants in India. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at ₹89,999, while the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant costs ₹99,999.

However, the company is offering a special early bird offer from March 13 to March 17. During this period, buyers can purchase the 512GB variant at the same price as the 256GB model.

Customers will also receive a complimentary phone damage protection plan valued at ₹9,999 with the purchase.

Xiaomi 17 Series Specifications: What Do the New Flagship Phones Offer?

Both smartphones in the Xiaomi 17 Series come with flagship-level hardware designed to deliver strong performance and improved user experience.

The Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra run on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor built on a 3nm architecture. This chipset is designed to offer faster processing speeds, better graphics performance, and improved energy efficiency.

The devices also run on Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 3 operating system based on Android 16. This new software platform focuses on smoother performance, enhanced customisation, and deeper integration across Xiaomi devices.

For memory and storage, the smartphones use LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage technology, ensuring faster data transfer speeds and efficient multitasking.

Xiaomi 17 Series Display, Battery & Performance Features

The Xiaomi 17 Series focuses heavily on display quality and battery performance. Both models support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC connectivity, and ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors. The phones also include multiple sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, and an IR blaster.

The Xiaomi 17 comes with a large 6330mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.  Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a slightly smaller 6000mAh battery but still offers strong charging capabilities with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. These features ensure that users can enjoy long battery life along with fast charging speeds.

Xiaomi 17 vs Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Key Differences Explained

While both phones share several core features, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra stands out with larger dimensions and more advanced camera capabilities.

The Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3-inch CrystalRes OLED display, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes with a larger 6.9-inch HyperRGB OLED screen. Both displays support a refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz and can reach peak brightness levels of up to 3500 nits.

In terms of cameras, the Xiaomi 17 includes a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra offers a more advanced camera system. It features a 50MP main sensor, a powerful 200MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Both devices also include a 50MP front camera designed for high-resolution selfies and video calls.

Both smartphones include advanced cooling systems to maintain performance during intensive tasks. The Xiaomi 17 uses a 3D IceLoop cooling system, while the Ultra model features an upgraded dual-channel IceLoop system.
